Flouride
Fluoride contains the compounds sodium fluoride, calcium fluoride, and sodium monofluorophospate. Fluoride is commonly added to toothpaste and drinking water, because fluoride increases the resistance of the enamel to tooth decay. Some people disapprove of adding flouride to drinking water because of the possible side effects like thyroid disease, teeth discoloration, as well as the potential to over-ingest. I believe they should continue to add fluoride to drinking water because it prevents tooth decay. I think that preventing tooth decay is more important then getting blotchy teeth. The side effect of using flouride drinking water that most concern me is too much ingestion of flouride. Studies have shown that flouride may be linked to thyroid disease. One of the side effects of too much flouride is blotchy teeth. I personally do not want to have blotchy teeth or thyroid disease.
